Chillums are small pipes that were earlier used by the Hindu Monks
Why is Chillum preferred more than Bongs, Vapours and Rolling Papers? Well, it is a common question in everyone’s mind but before we arrive at this question we must know what Chillum is?
Chillums are small pipes that were earlier used by the Hindu Monks in India. It is believed that these monks have been using chillums for almost thousands of years from now even before tobacco was introduced in India. Chillum has been associated with spirituality throughout Asia and Eastern Europe, but it reached late in western popularity in the 20th century. Now chillums are considered to be trendy and portable hand pipe style.
Chillums vs. Handpipes
Also known as ‘one hitter’, chillums are usually smaller in size as compared to other Handpipes including spoons and Sherlock. Chillums do not use a carburetor, it is supposed to be covered with a thumb or with a finger. Chillums do not have a carb, it means there is a less control over the flow of air in the pipe. This makes chillums ‘one hitters’.
Hookah, chillum smoking more toxic than cigarette
The old mode of smoking is more toxic than cigarette smoke. Even as per studies it is claimed that traditional smoking ways can be fatal if used too much. That is why now our market is upcoming with so many new ways of smoking and getting high like, cigarettes, bongs, rolling papers, vapors etc. But still, many people prefer the use of traditional smoking ways. It is believed that crude tobacco present in chillum and hookah made them less toxic.
